Brief Description

The fourth generation (4G) wireless communications become a hot topic in industrial researches and standardizations, particularly with the success of WRC’07 and the upcoming evolutions of 3GPP LTE, 3GPP 2 UMB, IEEE 802.16e etc. New requirements will motivate innovative technical researches in 4G and beyond. The symposium aims to provide a technical forum for sharing ideas and exchange recent research results and views on all aspects of 4G systems and beyond. Authors invited to submitted original technical papers in three areas listed below.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

l        Advanced Radio Transmissions Technology

ü        Coding and modulations (TCM, Lattice-based coding and modulation etc)

ü        Advanced multiple access and multiplexing (OFDMA, IFDMA, IDMA, non-orthogonal multiplexing)

ü        Channel coding (Turbo coding/LDPC etc)

ü        Multiple antenna techniques (MU-MIMO, Smart antenna, Cooperative MIMO, Precoding, etc)

ü        Interference mitigation (Soft-frequency reuse, multiuser detection etc)

l        Radio Networking

ü        Coexistence of multi-radio access networks (joint RRM, inter-RAT handover, interworking, security, etc)

ü        Multi-hop techniques for 4G systems (routing, resource optimization, cooperative relaying, security, etc)

ü        RRM for 4G and beyond (QoS aware Resource Allocation in OFDM/SDMA system, Joint Interference Management and Resource Allocation, OFDMA/SDMA Resource Allocation in Broadcast Regions, etc)

ü        Self-organizing network (self-configuration, self-optimization, self-testing, self-healing, etc)

ü        Dynamic Spectrum Access (MAC mechanisms, distributed power control, ad-hoc cognitive radio network, dynamic network architecture and protocols, etc)

l        Network Architecture

ü        Interworking and convergence between heterogeneous networks

ü        Mobile Internet (architecture, security, QoS, network management, etc)

ü        Mobility Management (new requirements, Seamless mobility technologies,  optimization of mobility management, etc)

ü        Wireless IP and TCP/UDP optimization, impacts on wireless network architecture, etc.

ü        Mobile P2P computing, system and applications (Overlay for mesh/adhoc and other networks, cooperation, self-organization, etc)
